Wii

April 24, 2009

The Nintendo Wii is a home based vidoe game system. It can be used for the usual recreational part, and it can also be used for an educational part. You can use the regualr games and take different parts of the game and work them into your lesson plan. For example, if you wanted to use the Wii in math classes, you coud use a racing game, and at the end, if you wanted your students to see by how much someone one by, the could calculate the difference between scores. There are also many different ways the Wii can be used in education. I also think that if a teacher were going to use the Wii in the classroom, it would make learning more fun for the students, and they would enjoy it more.

Twitter

April 9, 2009

Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers. When you send something to your twitter site, it is known as a tweet. Tweets are just like text messages, and they can be up to 140 characters, and then it goes to your twitter page. Anyone can have access to your page, and it makes it easier to communicate with people without emailing them, or if they are in a different class, this also makes it easier to communicate.

Overhead Projecter

April 7, 2009

An overhead projector is a form of a projector that displays an image onto a pull down scree, or wall. It is used to make images larger. Usually, teachers will make a transparency ( a clear piece of plactic with a worskeet on it) to let the class see an image enlarged. The overhead can also be used by teachers who just write right on the screen on the projector instead of making a copy of a worksheet.
